Coastal Forager Survival Course
1 day bushcraft and survival course
Locations: Cornwall/Devon/Dorset/West Wales.
The day will start on the beach with a brief introduction, to the essential elements of bushcraft and survival.
We will then head off along a stretch of the coast. Along the way you will be shown and collect any edible seashore foods and shellfish, useful building material for shelter, traps and fire making.
The second half of the day will be spent constructing emergency shelter, this will be made from conventional and wild resource. You will then be guided through the preparation of the wild foods foraged. We can then build and light a small cooking fire with a flint and steel from the coastal survival kit, you can then prepare and cook wild food forage. Some cooking equipment is provided.
After collecting and purifying fresh water, you will prepare a hot drink from the wild plants and flowers. There nutritional and medicinal benefits will be explained. An evaluation on the survival situation will include different techniques in signaling for help and rescue.

Notes:
All the standard equipment you require for this course is supplied at no extra cost. This includes a knife. (Recent travel restriction may prohibit the carrying of sharp objects)
All you need bring is your self sensible dressed for the season and a spare change of cloths and towel in a sealed waterproof bag. A full set of water proofs. Foot wear should be waterproof,light and easily removable.
